Service Objective Awards Luncheon

Held on June 12th at 11:30 at Merrill Gardens Community Room, Burien, WA.

The event opened with a quote from Pope Francis: –”Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself, and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is …. life is good when you are happy, but much better when others are happy because of you.”

In attendance were representatives from the surrounding cities that these organizations serve. Attending were: Senayet Negusse – SeaTac Council member, Planning Commissioner Jane Ho from Tukwila; Former Tukwila City Council member Kate Kruller; City of Burien Deputy Mayor Sarah Moore; and, Peggy McCarthy former Tukwila City Treasurer.

We awarded year we were able to award 4 awards for a total amount of $6500 to 4 women to help them stay in school and complete their education.

In addition, we awarded nearly $60,000 to these organizations:

Vision House. Hospitality House, Eileen & Callies Place, Highline College Emergency Fund.
